Since 1977, John Pittman has been running Channel Island swims. John and his crew have successfully navigated over 150 swims across the Catalina channel, Southern California Channel Islands and the Coronado Islands. In 2009, John successfully escorted 18 different swimmers on several attempts; several records were established and broken. Swim season is between June and October, with the best months being August, September and early October.
